Computer Forensics
Computer Forensics

Computer forensics is more than the production of electronic data. Although it begins with the collection of electronic evidence in a manner that preserves evidential integrity, computer forensics goes beyond the production of data and includes the analysis of the data as well as the media on which the data is stored to determine content, usage and trend.

The application of computer forensics covers a broad range of media (tapes, hard drives, CDs, memory cards, etc.) as well as diverse systems ranging from PDA's and cell phones to computer workstations, laptops, network servers and larger systems.

Analysis of the data from these various media types typically requires special knowledge about those systems, including their hardware, operation systems and application software. K&F has the special knowledge that is essential to know what kind of evidence is available, where to go for that evidence, how to recover that evidence and how to interpret its meaning.
