Case Management System
The Case Management System (CMS) is a web based platform for the efficient production and management of both structured and unstructured Electronically Stored Information (ESI) for use with the firm's e-discovery and computer forensic services. Furthermore, its capability with native format files, rapid data ingestion, and extensive analysis features makes it ideal for Early Case Assessment.
Following the SaaS [Software as a Service] model the system provides anytime anywhere access through standard browser software without installation or investment in additional software, hardware, staff or data storage and disaster recovery resources.
CMS Introduction Video
Processing
During processing CMS provides sophisticated analytical and search tools to identify the responsive and relevant documents in the population. Once identified, document populations can be further reduced to their smallest size with advanced granular deduplication techniques.
After the review population has been selected, it is ready for review without additional conversion; however, additional processing techniques such as pre-TIFFing for production or redaction and metadata extraction, can be run in advance or in background to speed the review effort.
Review
Review is 20 to 40 times more costly per gigabyte than processing. Not only does this fact raise the importance of population reduction during processing it also increases the importance of review productivity.
CMS provides numerous review productivity features like multi-document marking, near duplicate grouping grouping and real time redaction capability to name a few. CMS' strong production features also help speed the review effort.
Analysis
CMS has numerous tools for reviewing and evaluating the document population like:
- full extracted metadata (not just selected fields),
- powerful search functions for native files and OCR'd or extracted text,
- comprehensive document attribute indexing,
- robust analytical reports to interrogate the population and monitor project performance, and
- robust document tagging and marking capability.
Its ability to handle native format files without prior conversion or processing makes it ideal for Early Case Assessment. In addition, its design around popular forensic preservation tools lets it provide comprehensive assessment information faster than any other platform.
Production
Whether your needs are the traditional production of documents to a different system or the virtual swap, CMS can meet your requirements. Even its production features reduce document review costs, since its production logic can replicate the coding and features of the unique review population to all document instances.
If the lowest costs and greatest speed are your highest priority, CMS's virtual document swap capability is the answer. It also makes CMS the perfect candidate as a neutral ESI platform for use by both sides of a dispute or even in multi-party, multi-matter litigations.
